Most clinical training programs teach theory in a classroom and then send students into a clinical setting they have never seen before. The Parlor Institute of Clinical Readiness™ was built to close that gap — by placing students inside a working practice from day one.
Students rotate through Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Aesthetics & Wellness — gaining hands-on experience across the full scope of what physician-led care looks like in a modern practice. By the time they complete the program, they have seen more than most entry-level clinical staff see in their first year on the job.
What the program covers.
The Institute is structured as a rotation-based program — students spend time in each department, supervised by the clinical team, before completing their certification track. Every rotation is designed to produce a graduate who is immediately employable.
- Internal Medicine
- Physician-supervised clinical experience — patient intake, vitals, documentation, and care coordination
- Obesity Medicine
- Metabolic health, GLP-1 protocols, body composition assessment, and patient counseling
- Aesthetics & Wellness
- Injectables, laser therapy, IV infusion, and skin care — observation and supervised assistance
- MA Program
- Structured, hands-on Medical Assistant training built inside a real working practice
- Certification Prep
- Exam preparation, study support, and practice testing for MA certification
- Career Support
- Resume writing, interview preparation, and job placement assistance
- Duration
- Semester or year-round — structured rotation schedule
- Credential
- Certificate of completion + letter of recommendation for qualifying graduates

The Medical Assistant program within the Institute is the most structured track — students follow a defined curriculum, complete supervised clinical hours, and receive preparation for the national MA certification exam. Job placement support is included for all graduates.

Mrs. Gwendolyn Harris
43 Years of Nursing Excellence
There are nurses who practice their craft, and then there are nurses who become the craft itself — who carry forty-three years of patient care, hard-won wisdom, and quiet, unwavering presence into every room they enter and every student they shape.
Mrs. Harris is the latter.
Her career spans four decades of service across some of the most demanding and deeply human corners of nursing — internal medicine, med-surg, specialty care, wound care, home health, hospice, and the tender, unhurried work of caring for our elders. She has sat with patients in their most vulnerable moments. She has guided families through the hardest goodbyes. She has shown up, fully, for all of it.
That is the woman who now pours herself into the next generation of clinicians at the Parlor Institute of Clinical Readiness™.
As Director of Clinical Education, Mrs. Harris oversees the full arc of clinical readiness — from laboratory instruction and skills training to simulation labs, competency evaluations, student mentoring, and professional development. She oversees curriculum, staff development, competency and training. She doesn't just prepare students to pass an exam. She prepares them to walk into a room and be exactly what a patient needs.
Her specialty in wound care reflects a particular kind of patience — the willingness to stay with the slow, careful work of healing. Her years in hospice reflect something even deeper: a reverence for the sacred space between living and letting go, and the profound privilege of being present there.

Ms. Gloria Boyd
41 Years of Nursing · Clinical Excellence
There is a kind of knowledge that cannot be taught from a textbook — it lives in the hands, in the instincts, in the quiet confidence of someone who has shown up for patients through every season of nursing for more than four decades.
Ms. Gloria Boyd carries that knowledge into every room she enters.
With a nursing career that began in 1985, Ms. Boyd brings more than forty years of clinical wisdom to the Parlor Institute of Clinical Readiness™ — a depth of experience that spans generations of patient care, evolving standards of practice, and the kind of hands-on mastery that only time and true dedication can build.
In her dual role as Nurse Educator and practicing clinic RN at The Skin Parlor™, she trains the next generation of clinical professionals while continuing to deliver IV therapy, injections, and wellness services directly to patients. She leads nursing education, clinical mentoring, and day-to-day clinical leadership. Her presence bridges the gap between education and practice — ensuring every protocol is taught the way it is lived: with precision, patience, and genuine care.
Students who train alongside Ms. Boyd don't just learn clinical technique. They learn what it means to be a nurse who stays — who shows up fully, year after year, for every patient and every student in their care.
